Tales / Stories can be both regressive and progressive, and conservative and emancipatory, some of them even radical, but they are not at all a naive reading and are not without consequences in terms of having a manifest social impact and an educational dimension. From the second half of the 20th century, and especially now at the beginning of the 21st century, serious shifts and changes have been observed in the understanding and interpretation of classic fairy tales / stories on the one hand and the creation of new “modern” fairy tales / stories on the other hand. Fairy tales reflect man’s longing for stability, peace, love, but also for personal and social realization.
