The article deals with the image of the house in the novel “Melmoth the Wanderer” (1820) by the English writer C.R. Maturin (1780–1824). It analyzes the features of the spatial structure of the novel. The article highlights the features of the Gothic tradition in the description of the Gothic building. It notes the influence of religious themes, as well as aesthetic concepts on the image of the house.
