The Great Book about the Great War: Daniil Granin “My Lieutenant” – Laureate of the National Literary Award (Big Book)
Abstract
The National Literary Award “Big Book” is the most important contemporary one for Russian Federation’s Writers today. The Big Book confers for the best prose literary work in Russian since 2006. The laureates are determined by a representative jury, which includes more than a hundred people: professional writers, cultural figures, scientists, public figures, statesmen, journalists, and entrepreneurs. Over 14 premium seasons the 35 authors have been rewarded this literary award (some twice, D. Bykov – thrice). Currently, work is underway at the Russian State Library to create bio-bibliographic essays about the Big Book’s writers. The proposed article is devoted to one of them.
