The article uses materials from 10 archives of Moscow and St. Petersburg, which are presented for the first time. The information contained in the correspondence to allow look at the relationship between Mikhail Dubelt and his wife anew. It is a ground to revise the point of view rooted in Soviet Pushkin studies where Dubelt was presented as the culprit of the divorce.
