Persian Translations of “Voqeot-i Boburi”
Abstract
During the reign of the Timurids of India, special attention was paid to the translation of scientific and fiction literature into Persian from various languages. The translation school in Farsi has reached great success. So, from the Chagatai Turk to the Farsi, a majestic monument of autobiographical literature was translated – “Voqeot-i Boburi”, which belonged to Zahiraddin Muhammad Babur, the founder of the Timurid state of India. This work, famous as “Babur-name,” has a great importance in the study of the history of the first half of the 16th century, about the social system, various issues of the social life of the people, culture and craft. This work has great importance in revealing the issues of the history of literature at the beginning of the 16th century, in particular, the features of the epoch-making literary movement as a valuable source. The author presents rich biographical material about many famous representatives of Persian-Tajik literature and points their worthy contribution to the literature and culture development, which provided the knowledge of the spiritual culture of the time. The article considers the Persian translations of “Voqeot-i Boburi” – “Tabakot-i Boburi” by Sheikh Zainuddin Hofi Wafoi, “Tuzuq-i Boburi” by Mirzo Poyand Hassan Geznevi and Muhammadkuli Mugul Gisari, as well as “Babur-nama by Mirzo Abdurahim Khanihanan, their style and features of translation.
