“Non-existence is Conventionalism” (Marina and Anastasia Tsvetaev in Italy)
Abstract
This article talks about the opening on June 8, 2017 on the wall of the former Russian boarding house in Italy’s Nervi of a plaque to commemorate the stay of the Tsvetaevs from the autumn of 1902 to the spring of 1903. Maria Tsvetaev (nee Maine), mother of the renowned poetess Marina Tsvetaev, brought her daughters, Marina and Anastasia, here as she underwent medical treatment. The unveiling of the commemorative plaque was thanks to the persistent efforts of the author of this article and her Italian assistant Marta Tongiani, an admirer of Marina Tsvetaev’s poetry.
