Based on a number of Greek language texts, this paper undertakes an analysis of idiomatic comments, i. e. idioms that are directly related to communicative situation and serve the function of commenting on certain aspects of communicative situation. We suggest a typology of idiomatic comments in the Greek language texts, observe their communicative and pragmatic function and expand on the definition of idiomatic comments.
