The paper deals with the problem of the aesthetic modality of the lyrical creative work and a special case of the literary mode of lyrics. Modern approaches to this problem are analyzed. A possible solution of this problem in the context of Mikhail Bakhtin’s axiological theory of lyrical creative work is suggested and justified. According to this theory, the lyrical is defined as an aesthetic modality of inward formation of the human personality. The specific features of the literary mode are described for lyrics.
