The article being a linguistic research describes the communicative aspects of the ‘evil twin stranger’ phenomenon in cinema (the films based on Andersen, Dostoevsky, etc. are analyzed ). By analyzing the work of communicative tools in a movie dialogue, conclusions are drawn about the individual communicative strategies of the characters in several master-twin pairs. The specifics of the typical communicative behavior of twins-protagonists and the specifics common to their “masters” are described.
